Support a Local Pike Business

With Transylvania's Alumni Weekend coming up, the KCAA is generating ideas of where to host our Friday Alumni Social, since the Atomic Cafe closed. The KCAA choose the Atomic Cafe last year for convinence and proximity to Transylvania's campus, but also because a fellow Pike was part owner of the venue. Additionally, another Lexington business, Billy's BBQ, was a staple of the Chevy Chase neighborhood, and was rumored to be Pike owned and closed several months ago. Both of these venues I knew about, but never knew they were Pike owned until after they were closed.

Since Pikes are Leaders around the country, I would assume several of our brothers have taken that even further by starting their own business. The purpose of this post is to follow the "Kentucky Proud" theme, to know which of our fellow Pike brothers own thier own business and then to support those Pike brothers and their businesses. I would like to begin generating a list of all Kappa owned businesses around the United States, as well as Pike owned businesses in the Greater Lexington Area that the Kappa Chapter and our fellow alumni can try to support. If you are a #ProudPike and proud business owner, you could help us and your business by:

  • Listing your Name

  • Your Pledge Class

  • University (if not a Transylvania alumni)

  • Business Name

  • Website and/or Contact Info

  • Description of what your business is

Fill in the Facebook comments below or send the chapter an email (pikekappachapter@gmail.com) for us to add your information. Hopefully, we will eventually generate enough Pike owned businesses listed for the chapter and alumni to help us support our fellow Pike brothers and businesses!
