October 2014 Newsletter
To The Alumni of Pi Kappa Alpha- Kappa Chapter for October 2014:
Greetings! My name is Timothy C. Saylor and I am a senior member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity Kappa Chapter. To give a little bit of a background on myself I am studying Biology and have held quite a few positions in the Fraternity (Treasurer, Recruitment Chair, and Alumni Relations Chair). Since I am Alumni Relations I just wanted to point out some awesome stuff that our chapter has been able to accomplish this year so far. In addition to pointing these out, I also wanted to let all of you know that you are going to start hearing a lot more from us in the coming months as this will be the first in a monthly newsletter that will be sent to you. If you would prefer a hard copy of this letter then please do not hesitate to contact me at the chapter email below or my personal contact information, also found below.
Recruitment was a success with a total of 21 New Members deciding to join our brotherhood
The New Member Educational Process is going along smoothly and although this year the process must go quick, all of the New Members are learning what it means to be a Pike
Initiation is slated to be on the 8th of November in the Christ Church Cathedral in the evening hours, Alumni are welcomed to attend
The final stages of planning our first philanthropy are underway. The philanthropy will be a yard-sale type event where we sell off some of our belongings and we will donate the proceeds to charity. If you would like to help or to donate items to this cause please email Danial Memon at dkmemon16@transy.edu
Our new faculty advisor is Diane Fout, you can reach her at dfout@transy.edu
In addition to these events and happenings, there will be some more details with all of these and more in next month’s newsletter. I am sure Transy is making sure you do not forget but T-day is right around the corner and the Chapter is looking forward to seeing the Alumni have a huge showing this year. When we learn more about the event we will be sure to pass the information on.
I want to end this newsletter though with a big thank you to all the alumni that supported us this summer, and those that will continue to support us in the future. We will not let you, or any of the other alumni down in bringing this chapter back to the top, where it belongs. Thank you all very much and be on the lookout for the next newsletter in November!
Timothy Saylor
